Cara Marie Piazza is a natural dyer, artisan, and textile designer who creates sustainable clothing. Cara uses natural ingredients, such as flowers and spices, to dye her fabrics while designing dreamy, feminine and unique pieces. In addition, she partners with restaurants and florists to recycle natural ingredients and food waste.
I find inspiration in Cara’s versatile and endurable pieces. Slip on her silk blouse for a peaceful morning in, or style it up with a bold jacket and sharp boots for an evening out.
The colors found in nature are vibrant and beautiful. After learning about her process, I’m looking forward to experimenting with seeds, vegetables, and flowers for eco dyeing.
“I think your first step into becoming a more sustainable consumer is to start asking questions. Where did this come from? Who sewed my grament? How much water was used to make this garmet?”
